Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 7 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Ivy May Jr., with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 5 p.m. The Rev. Bobby Hodnett will officiate the service.
Ivy was a native of Gilbert, La. and a longtime resident of Franklin, who passed away at the age of 86 on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at his home. He was a veteran of the United States Army. His passions in life were fishing, working in his yard, helping his neighbors, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Doucet May; four children, Brenda M. Latiolais and her husband, Curtis; Edwin May and his wife, Mary; Sandra M. McLean; and Gary May; one brother, Charles E. May and his wife, Bonnie; one sister, Cecile M. Barkley and her husband, Charles; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy May Sr. and Almeda Ball May; two brothers, Cecil Mike May and Robert Gayle May; and one sister, Pauline M. Smith.
