Doris Irene “Donnie” Baker Fryar

Doris Irene “Donnie” Baker Fryar, a long-time resident of Patterson, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Good Samaritan Center, Dowling Park, Fla., at the age of 89. Mrs. Donnie was a native of Kiln, Miss.
She is survived by her son, Charles Stacey Fryar (Lisa) of Morgan City; a daughter, Donna Susan Fryar Hudson (Wayne) of Mayo, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Houston Baker of Mississippi; her husband, Cylus Charles “Charlie” Fryar of Patterson; a daughter, Sandra Jean Fryar Mendoza (Larry Mendoza) of Patterson; three brothers, Leverne Baker, Frank Baker and Charlie Mac Baker; and three sisters, Clara Elizabeth Johnson, Helen Maxine Black and Edna Merlene Findley LaCoste.
A memorial service will be held at Bayou Vista Baptist Church Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at 10 a.m. A private graveside service will follow immediately after.
