Norman Russell Willis Sr.

October 9, 1933 — May 26, 2013

Norman Russell Willis Sr., a longtime resident of Berwick and Franklin, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 79.

Norman was a boat captain for Tidewater Marine for 20 years, and loved the outdoors. He was a hunter, fisherman, shrimper and a trapper. He was a wonderful provider for his family. His main concern was to see that his family had everything and he would often put their needs before his own. Norman loved to see them succeed, and did all he could to make that happen. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all.

Norman is survived by his wife, Melba “Mickey” Lombas Willis of 62 years; his two daughters, Linda Joyce Willis and Sherry Lynn Willis; his grandchildren, Nichol Chaisson, Sissy Chaisson, Christy Palmature, Brandi Willis, Cherie Moncada, Elizabeth Christie, Billy, Becca and Katy Hay; and his 11 great-grandchildren.

Norman is preceded in death by his son, Norman Russell Willis Jr.; his mother and stepfather, Bertha Willis and Curtis Baker; and his grandson, Lil Andy Chaisson.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Bayou Vista Civic Center from 1 to 5 p.m.
