Oct. 9, 1933 ~ May 26, 2013

Norman Russell Willis Sr., a long time resident of Berwick and Franklin passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 79.

Norman was a boat captain for Tidewater Marine for 20 years. Norman loved the outdoors; he was a hunter, fisherman, shrimper and a trapper. He was a wonderful provider for his family, his main concern was to see that his family had everything; he would often put their needs before his own. Norman loved to see them succeed, and did all he could to make that happen. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all.

Norman is survived by his wife of 62 years, Melba “Mickey” Lombas; his two daughters, Linda Joyce Willis and Sherry Lynn Willis; his grandchildren, Nichol Chaisson, Sissy Chaisson, Christy Palmature, Brandi Willis, Cherie Moncada, Elizabeth Christie, Billy, Becca, and Katy Hay; and his 11 great-grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his son, Norman Russell Willis Jr.; his mother and stepfather, Bertha Willis and Curtis Baker; and his grandson, Lil Andy Chaisson.

Visitation will be Saturday June 1, 2013 at the Bayou Vista Civic Center, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
