Next Stop: Pony super regionals

St. Mary’s Pony League All-Stars are moving on to the Super Regional Tournament in Crowley after beating Erath, 12-2, in the Section Tournament championship game.

Erath had beaten St. Mary earlier in the tournament, 10-0 in six innings, but St. Mary won the second game on Sunday to take the championship and secure a spot in the super regionals.

In the first game, St. Mary defeated Coteau, 15-7, with Neal Michael Theriot picking up the win on the mound.

Daniel Gray was 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs, and John Hebert was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

In the second game of the tournament, St. Mary beat Arnaudville, 10-6, with Chandler Delaune pitching the team to victory.

John Hebert was 1-for-1 at the plate with two RBIs, and Chet Aucoin was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

St. Mary will play the Crowley Nationals on Thursday at 6 p.m. with the winner moving on to play at noon Saturday against the winner of the Rayne and Crowley Americans game.
