Missing 4 Corners couple found safe

An elderly couple missing for 24 hours from the Four Corners area was found safe this morning in St. Bernard Parish, according to reports from St. Mary Sheriff Mark Hebert.
The couple, Felton Sr. and Marguerite Jones, ages 85 and 83, reportedly drove away from their home on La. 668 at about 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Investigators believed the Joneses may have been planning to travel to the New Orleans area.
However, according to family members, the couple suffers from varying degrees of dementia.
The couple was listed as missing persons in the National Crime Information Center and an all points bulletin was sent out to area law enforcement agencies.
At approximately 3 a.m. this morning a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office dispatcher received notification from the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office that the couple was found safe.
A St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s deputy had located the couple near their vehicle which had apparently run out of gas. Both were reportedly in good health and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
They have since been reunited with their family.
