Morgan City woman charged with 2nd degree battery in beating
A 30-year-old Morgan City woman was arrested Wednesday morning by Morgan City police after allegedly attacking a man near David Drive, according to Police Chief Travis Crouch.
Bobbie J. Fitch, 30, of Kidd Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:09 a.m. Wednesday for second degree battery.
Officers responded to the Cracker Barrel in Morgan City in regards to a person who had been beaten. When officers arrived they encountered a male who had lacerations about his face and head. During the investigation, officers discovered that the victim had encountered someone in the wooded area across the levee at David Drive in Morgan City who was camping.
The victim became involved in an altercation with a woman, and she beat him on his face and head causing injuries. Officers located several people camping in the area and upon questioning, identified Fitch as the woman who had beaten the victim. Fitch was charged with second degree battery for the attack. The victim was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center for his injuries. Fitch remains in jail with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Travonta D. Ausama, 19, of Robin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for resisting an officer and fugitive warrant in Assumption Parish for resisting an officer.
Ausama was located at his residence in Brownell Homes and found hiding in a bedroom. He was taken to jail and is still being held.
—Cheyenne Percle Jr., 26, of Rose Street in Berwick, was arrested at 11:04 p.m. Tuesday on an outstanding bench warrant for driving under suspension. Percle was located at Berwick Police Department and placed under arrest on the warrant. Percle was taken to the Morgan City Jail, and released after posting a $175 bail.
—Thomas Lousher, 54, of Francis Street in Berwick, was arrested at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday on an outstanding warrant for failure to pay a fine for drug paraphernalia and for resisting an officer.
An officer patrolling the Barrow Street area observed Lousher acting suspiciously, the report stated. When officers attempted to detain him for investigation, he fled on foot. An unnamed person intervened and assisted officers in detaining the subject. Lousher was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for failure to pay a fine for drug paraphernalia. He was taken to jail where he is being held.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Crystal K. Duhon, 40, of Pharr Street in Berwick, was arrested at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Duhon at her residence on the warrant with the assistance of the Berwick Police Department. Duhon was released on a summons to appear in court June 12.
—Sonia A. Webb, 50, of Trevino Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of a shoplifter at the Dollar General Store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Webb was observed placing items in her purse and later left the store without paying for the items, the report stated. The deputy located Webb at her residence. Following the investigation, Webb was taken to the parish jail and held.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Cheyenne Percle Jr., 26, of Rose Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8:34 p.m. Tuesday for driving under suspension and license plate light required. Percle posted bail and was released.
