Morgan City woman arrested in St. Martinville meth lab bust
ST. MARTINVILLE, La. — A 50-year-old Morgan City woman was among eight people arrested Tuesday by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff in connection with a meth lab on Duchamp Road in St. Martinville, according to a news release.
Geraldine Soto, 50, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City was among the eight people charged with operation of a clandestine laboratory for the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Tuesday evening, the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit investigated a complaint of illegal drug activity at a residence located in the 1000 Block of Duchamp Road. While investigating, agents came into contact with a meth lab, the release stated.
Eight people were removed from the residence for safety reasons and the active meth lab was dismantled by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Haz-Mat Unit, St. Martin Parish Fire Department, and a private cleanup company.
Others arrested were Richard Fontenot, 40, of Duchamp Road in Broussard; Jeremiah Richard, 25, of South St. Mallory Street in Abbeville; Victor Rivoire, 52, of Fillia Drive in Lafayette; Jessica Aucoin, 36, of Duchamp Road in Broussard; Amanda Francis, 32 of Duchamp Road in Broussard; Grady Domino, 43, of Daisy Lane in St. Martinville; and Christina Soto, 33, of Duchamp Road in Broussard.
