Morgan City woman arrested on check charges

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:

—Earline Ann Sam, 31, of Poncio Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:09 a.m. Tuesday at the sheriff’s office in Morgan City on warrants for four counts of issuing worthless checks. Sam was released on a summons to appear in court on May 21.

—Whitney Ann Klein, 48, of Pecan Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday for theft. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area responded to a complaint of a theft at Walmart in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store security that Klein was observed exiting the building with a shopping cart containing electronics and a pressure washer, the report stated. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Klein did not pay for the items before leaving the store. Klein was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.

—Davey Wayne Gober, 55, of Shannon Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9 p.m. Tuesday for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area responded to a complaint of a disturbance on Shannon Street in Patterson. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a subject stumbling away from a residence. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Gober, and detected the strong odor of alcohol on his person. While speaking with Gober, he began yelling and refused the deputy’s requests to stop, the report stated. Gober was taken to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bail is set at $250.

—Michael Aucoin, 53, of Diane Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:54 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy responding to a complaint of a disturbance on Shannon Street in Patterson made contact with Aucoin and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Aucoin was taken to the parish jail and held. His bail is set at $10,133.99.

—Lee Boudreaux, 38, of Magnolia Street in Amelia, was arrested at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday for second degree battery and on a warrant for theft. A deputy responded to Teche Regional Medical Center in reference to a battery that occurred in Amelia. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from the elderly victim that he and Lee were arguing when Lee pushed him to the ground. The victim received treatment for a broken wrist. Lee was located at his residence. Following an investigation, he was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.

—Darrel Legnon Jr., 24, of Ridgefield Avenue in Thibodaux, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. today on a warrant from the Thibodaux Police Department for failure to appear on the charge of theft. A deputy responding to a single vehicle crash on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia identified Legnon as the driver. The deputy conducted a warrants check and learned of the warrant for Legnon’s arrest. He was taken to the parish jail and held. His bail is set at $2,500.

Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Glenn Blanco reported the following arrests:

—Branshekia S. Harris, 25, of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Patterson, was arrested at midnight Friday on a probation warrant and a warrant for failure to appear.

While patrolling the area of Hilda Street, officers conducted a traffic stop for failure to signal a turn. The driver gave officers the name of her passenger. It was later determined that the driver was in fact Harris, and that outstanding warrants were held for her arrest by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. She was taken to jail and held. Bail is set at $41,000.

—Larry Pontiff, 40, of Brusly Guillot Road in Thibodaux, was arrested at 11:37 p.m. Saturday for driving under suspension and driving with an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. Pontiff was taken to jail and held. Bail is set at $538.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:

—Sonya Rebardi, 43, of Rose Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7:38 a.m. Tuesday for theft of more than $100. Rebardi was released on $1,000 bail.

—Tony Teague, 44, of Sebby Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:16 a.m. Tuesday on warrants for aggravated assault and simple battery, and on warrants from Nueces County for failure to appear for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and failure to appear for possession of CDS.

—John Sanford, 44, of Spruce Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:43 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for felony theft. Bail is set at $15,000.

—Glenn Falgout, 72, of Patton Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:51 p.m. Sunday for driving under suspension. He was released on $1,000 bail.
