Morgan City Rentals, Ocean Marine pick up youth baseball wins
MORGAN CITY — Morgan City Rentals topped Charlie’s Lanes 11-6 in City League action Tuesday at Complex Park.
Matthew Mire earned the win for Morgan City Rentals as he pitched two innings and allowed a run on three hits with three walks and fanned six.
At the plate, he finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
Other top offensive contributors for Morgan City included Luke Barbier, 2-for-2, a triple, an RBI and a run; Dwain Canty, two runs and an RBI; Ty’Jae Vaughns and Jacob Blum, each two runs; J.R. Hymel and Jordan Percle, each a run; and Robbie Boudreaux, an RBI.
Barbier also pitched two innings of relief and allowed four runs on two hits with two walks and fanned six.
For Charlie’s Lanes, Jackson Butler was 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run, while TyJae Batiste was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run. Other top contributors included Tyrese Batiste, 1-for-1, an RBI; Logan Haines, 1-for-2, an RBI; Zachary Bennett, 1-for-1, a run; Spencer Hebert, 1-for-2; Dylan Cornes, 1-for-2, a run; and Brayden Landry and Jason Haung, each a run.
Ocean Marine wins by forfeit
Ocean Marine won by forfeit Tuesday as Gator Riggings only fielded seven players for the contest.
However, both teams played a “game” anyway that Gator Rigging came out on top 13-10.
Colin Crappel had a huge contest for Gator Rigging as he finished 3-for-3 with a triple, six RBIs and two runs, while Peyton Grizzaffi finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
Other top offensive contributors for Ocean Marine included Ethan Blanco, 1-for-1, an RBI and two runs; Caleb Molina, an RBI and two runs; Keegan Lodrigue, three runs; and Mahki Branton, two runs.
For Ocean Marine, Luke Freia finished 1-for-1 with three RBIs and a run, while Trent Hillen was 1-for-2 with a triple, an RBI and a run.
Other top contributors included Dylan Mayon, 1-for-1, two runs; Alex Boudreaux, 1-for-2, a run; and Randy Fontenot, an RBI and two runs.
