Morgan City Rentals edges Skipper's Sporting Goods

Cooper LeBlanc homered and drove in two as Morgan City Rentals edged Skipper’s Sporting Goods, 4-3, in Dixie League action on Tuesday at Complex Park.

LeBlanc finished the evening 2-for-2 with a home run and a double.

Other Morgan City Rentals’ hitters included Brooks Thomas, 2-for-3, a double and a run; Cade Minton, 1-for-2, a triple, an RBI and a run; Nick Pederson, 1-for-2; and Josh Sanford, a run.

On the mound, Morgan City Rentals’ Greg Landry surrendered three runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in five innings of work.

In two innings of relief, Pederson retired the six batters he faced.

For Skipper’s, Dakota Lux finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Thomas Mire finished 1-for-3 with an RBI. Other Skipper’s hitters included Maurice Martin, 1-for-2, a run; and Travis Whitehead, 1-for-3, a run.

Mire pitched four innings for Skipper’s and surrendered four runs on six hits with five walks and four strikeouts.

Rapid Trucking 5

Two Taco Bell players homered as the squad roared past Rapid Trucking, 17-5, in City League action on Tuesday at Spinella Park.

Philip Guarisco finished the night 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs, while Dale Turner added a 1-for-1 day with a home run and three RBIs. Other Taco Bell hitters included Akaya Poole, 2-for-3, a double, two RBIs and three runs; Gunner Theriot, 1-for-2, an RBI and a run; Garrett Deshotel and Kytrell Grogan, each 1-for-1, an RBI and a run; Brett Morrel, 1-for-2, a triple and three runs; Austin Deshotel, two RBIs and a run; Kye Hartley, an RBI and a run; Hugh Hamer, two runs; and Grant Cheramie, a run.

On the mound, Theriot tossed a no hitter and surrendered two runs with six walks and six strikeouts.

For Rapid Trucking, Grant Stansbury recorded an RBI, while Kurvante Webb, Yahkheem Mosley, Ja’Khyri Carbin, Reid Lodrigue, Davidyione Bias and T.J. Davis each scored a run.

Whitney Bank edged Scully’s, 3-2, in 7-8-year-old action at Spinella Park on Tuesday.

Robert Blanchard led Whitney Bank with a 2-for-2 performance, while Bryson Dupre, Kale Beard, Seth Baham, Tyler Colbert, Blake Peterson and Kris Prejean all finished 1-for-2.

For Scully’s, Deonte Stephens and Ethan Blanchard each finished 3-for-3, while Robbie Boudreaux, 2-for-3, and Keith Daigle, 1-for-3, also contributed.

Ocean Marine 9,

Charlie’s Lane 6

Ocean Marine defeated Charlie’s Lane, 9-6, in 9-10-year-old action on Tuesday at Spinella Park.

Tyler Blanchard was the winning pitcher, while Devin Hidalgo suffered the loss.

For Charlie’s Lanes, Zachary Bennett, Kade Pichoff and Trey Batiste each finished 1-for-3.

Rapid Trucking 12, Grizzaffi’s 5

Four players recorded three hits apiece as Rapid Trucking defeated Grizzaffi’s, 12-5, in 7-8-year-old action on May 31 at Spinella Park.

Tylon Mobley, Dakota Gibson, Dayshon Pete and Ja’Quan Gray all finished 3-for-3 in the victory, while Hunter Bella, Samar Thompkins and Ty’Jon Folse each finished 2-for-3. Other Rapid Trucking hitters included Randy Fontenot and Elijha Brown, each 1-for-3; and Drake Hue, 1-for-2.

For Grizzaffi’s, Vernon Singleton finished 2-for-2, while Drew Rock added a 2-for-3 performance. Other hitters included Ty Eschette, Andy Gros and John Robert Hymel, 1-for-3; and Darren Bourgeois, 1-for-2.

Candy Fleet 3

Nine players recorded two hits apiece as Rapid Trucking roared past Candy Fleet, 15-3, in 7-8-year-old action at Spinella Park on May 23.

Randy Fontenot, Dayshon Pete, Dakota Gibson, Hunter Bella, Ja’Quan Gray, Dylan Duval, Damondrick Blackburn, Ty’Jon Folse and Samar Thompkins all recorded two hits apiece, while Tylon Mobley added a hit.

For Candy Fleet, Drew Miller finished the day 2-for-2, while Spencer Hebert added a 2-for-3 outing. Carsyn Meador, Drake Charpentier and Richard Magann all finished 1-for-2.

Vernon Singleton finished 4-for-4 in the victory, while Drew Rock, Andy Gros and Zane Griffin each finished 4-for-5 in the win. Other Grizzaffi hitters included Zaki Singleton and John Hymel, each 3-for-4; Ben Miller and Kaiden Adams, each 2-for-4; and Ty Eschette, 2-for-5.

For Candy Fleet, Spencer Hebert finished 4-for-4, while Dylan Cornes, Richard Magann and Logan Haines each finished 3-for-3. Other Candy Fleet hitters included Peyton Rothell, 3-for-5; Carsyn Meador, 2-for-4; and Dylan Reynolds, 1-for-2.
