Morgan City Rentals defeats Ocean Marine
Luke Barbier homered and struck out nine as Morgan City Rentals defeated Ocean Marine, 7-4, in City League action Tuesday at Complex Park in Morgan City.
Barbier finished 1-for-1 and scored two runs in the contest.
On the mound, he tossed four innings and allowed a run on two hits with one walk.
Other contributors for Morgan City Rentals included Dakota Gibson and Matthew Mire, each 1-for-2 with two runs, while Gibson had two RBIs; and Hanson Cutrera scored a run.
For Ocean Marine, Trent Hillen finished 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run, while Randy Fontenot finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Tony Griffin, Jhai Robinson and Tyrek Steele each scored a run.
In other City League action Tuesday, Taco Bell defeated Gator Rigging, 13-4.
Grant Cheramie led Taco Bell with a 2-for-3 performance with a double, a triple, four RBIs and a run.
Other top contributors included Hugh Hamer, 1-for-2, two RBIs and three runs; Tate Matherne, 1-for-1, an RBI and two runs; Gunner Theriot and Brett Morel, each 1-for-1 with three runs; and Kale Beard, a run.
Morel also pitched three innings and allowed two runs on one hit with five walks and eight strikeouts, while Hamer tossed two innings and allowed three runs, no hits, walked four and struck out four.
For Gator Rigging, Caleb Medina finished 1-for-3 with an RBI; Remington Begley recorded an RBI and a run; and Leroy Byers, Ethan Blanco and Jay’eon Grogan each scored a run.
In Monday’s action, Johnny’s Propeller defeated Skippers, 9-1, in Dixie League action.
In the win, Michael-Anthony Hill finished 2-for-3 with two out-of-the-park home runs.
He also pitched five innings and struck out seven. In his outing, he surrendered one run, a walk and three hits.

Bryce Grizzaffi led Dragna Brothers as he tossed four innings and allowed three runs on four hits with eight walks and nine strikeouts.
On the mound, he finished 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs.

In Minor League action Monday, Grizzaffi’s edged A.J. Dohmann, 7-6, at Spinella Park.
Peyton Pickens finished 2-for-2 for Grizzaffi’s, while Zaki Singleton, Vernon Singleton, Ben Miller and Hayden Robinson all finished 2-for-3, Brennan Sauce, 1-for-2, and Ricky Lodrigues, 1-for-3.
Collin Gowan finished 3-for-3 to lead A.J. Dohmann, while Angelo Viscardis finished 2-for-2 and Caleb O’Con, 2-for-3. Other contributors included Bradan Bailey, 1-for-1; and Dominic Case and Layne Guidry, each 1-for-2.
Also Monday in City League action, Morgan City Rentals routed Grizzly Marine, 16-0.

On Friday, Morgan City Rentals defeated Offshore Hammers, 11-1.
Dylan Tingle finished 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and a run, while Brooks Thomas finished 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run. Other top contributors included Ethan Nguyen, 2-for-3, two runs; Tucker Manuel, a run and two RBIs; Blaize Louviere, an RBI and a run; Hunter Daigle, 1-for-3, two runs; and Josh Sanford and Kytrell Grogan, each a run.
On the mound, Daigle earned the win as he surrendered a run on two hits with four walks and struck out five in four innings of work.
