Morgan City Rentals beats Offshore Hammers, 12-10

Morgan City Rentals defeated Offshore Hammers 12-10 in Morgan City Dixie League action Wednesday at Complex Park.

Joseph Oubre finished 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run to lead Morgan City Rentals, while Tucker Manuel added a 1-for-3 performance with an RBI and two runs. Other top Morgan City Rentals’ contributors included Ethan Nguyen, 1-for-4, a double and two runs; and Hunter Daigle, 1-for-3, a run.

Trey Derouen led Ocean Marine with a 2-for-3 performance with a triple, three RBIs and a run, while Maurice Martin also finished 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Other top contributors for Ocean Marine included Tylan Bennett, 1-for-3, a double, an RBI and a run; John-Charles Hebert, 1-for-2, two runs; and Austin Deshotel, two runs.

Also Wednesday in Morgan City, Dragna Brothers routed Skipper’s 12-2 in Dixie League action.

Bryce Grizzaffi led Dragna with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate with a triple, two RBIs and two runs, while he also earned the win on the mound. In four innings, he allowed two runs on a hit with two walks and fanned nine.

Other top contributors for Dragna were Alex Brocato, 2-for-2, a double, two RBIs and two runs; Andre Dragna, 2-for-3, a double and two runs; Michael Crappell, 1-for-1, a double, an RBI and two runs; Zachary Stewart, 1-for-2, a double, an RBI and a run; Jake Arceneaux, 1-for-2, an RBI and a run; and Akayah Poole, 1-for-2, a run.

Tank Charles led Skipper’s with a 1-for-2 performance with a double and a run, while Dakota Lux scored a run.

At Spinella Park Wednesday, Candy Fleet defeated Whitney Bank, 7-5.

Drew Miller led Candy Fleet with a 3-for-3 performance, while Jayden Little finished 2-for-2 and Mason Johnston, Logan Hebert and Carsyn Meador each recorded a 2-for-3 performance. Other top contributors included Dylan Reynolds, Yahir Zermeno and Tristen Gibson, each 1-for-2; and DeMari Watkins, 1-for-3.

Bryson Dupuy, Zachary Billiot and Robert Blanchard each finished 2-for-2 for Whitney Bank, while Chris Prejean, Blake Peterson, Ty Russo and Seth Baham all finished 1-for-2 and Gary Nicar, 1-for-3.

Also Wednesday at Spinella Park, Charlie’s Lanes defeated Grizzly Marine, 15-9.

Jackson Butler, Joseph Boudreaux and Logan Haines each finished 1-for-2 for Charlie’s Lanes, while Spencer Hebert was 1-for-3.

For Grizzly Marine, Ethan Blanchard, Davaidyione Bias and Cullen Adams all finished 1-for-3, while Austin Reynolds was 1-for-2.

In Tuesday’s action in Morgan City, Ocean Marine defeated KFC/Taco Bell 8-5 in City League play.

Hillen led Ocean Marine both on the mound and at the plate.

From the hill, he earned the win and recorded 17 of the 18 outs in six innings via strikeout. During his six-inning outing, he allowed five runs on four hits with four walks.

At the plate, he finished 2-for-2 with three RBIS.

Matthew Mire led Morgan City Rentals with a 1-for-2 performance with a double and two runs, while he also earned the win on the mound. During his three innings on the hill, he allowed a run on a hit with two walks and struck out seven.

At Spinella Park Monday, Rapid Trucking defeated A.J. Dohmann, 14-7.

Ja’Quan Gray and Tylon Mobley each finished 3-for-3 for Rapid Trucking, while Dylan Duval, Ty’Jon Folse and Damon’Drick Blackburn each finished 2-for-3. Other top contributors included Mike Jones, 1-for-3, Keegan Lange and Howard Kinchen, each 1-for-2; and Elijah Brown, Ramye Jones and Laurielle Bias, each a hit.

For A.J. Dohmann, Caleb O’Con and Tate Aucoin each finished 3-for-3, while Andrew Cavailier and Layne Guidry each were 2-for-2. Other top contributors included Collin Gowan and Braden Bailey, each 1-for-2; and Angelo Viscardi and Gate Patureau, each 1-for-3.

Also Tuesday, Grizzaffi’s defeated Scully’s 18-5.

For Scully’s John Myers finished 2-for-2, while Landon Gagliano, Cameron LaCoste and Tyler Smith all finished 2-for-3 and Ben Lewis, 1-for-2.

In Dixie League action Monday in Morgan City, Offshore Hammers defeated Johnny’s Propeller, 11-4.

Philip Guarisco earned the win for Offshore Hammers as he allowed four runs on three hits with five walks and fanned seven in four innings of work. At the plate, he recorded an RBI and scored two runs.

Also Monday, Morgan City Rentals defeated Skipper’s Sporting Good, 8-3.

Hunter Daigle recorded a triple, a run and four RBIs to lead Morgan City Rentals, while Ethan Nguyen finished 2-for-2 with two runs. Other top contributors for Morgan City Rentals included Josh Sanford, 1-for-2, a triple and two runs; Dylan Tingle, 1-for-3; Joseph Oubre, an RBI and a run; and Tucker Manuel, two runs.

Gator Rigging pitching fans 15 in win

Zeph Hoffpauir and Adams Askew combined for 15 strikeouts as Gator Rigging rolled past Lafayette Electric, 10-1 in 11- and 12-year-old baseball action in Bayou Vista Tuesday.

Hoffpauir, who earned the win, pitched the first three innings and surrendered a run on two hits with four walks and nine strikeouts.

In three innings of relief, Askew didn’t allow a hit and fanned six.

At the plate, Askew finished 3-for-3 with a triple, a home run, an RBI and scored two runs.

Other top contributors included Ian Valdez, 2-for-2, a double, a triple, three RBIs and two runs; Hoffpauir, 2-for-3, an RBI and two runs; Michael Wise, 1-for-1, a run;

Caleb Daigle, 1-for-2, a run and Chase Wilson, 1-for-3, two RBIs.

For Lafayette Electric, Daniel Seymour pitched an inning and surrendered four runs on three hits with three walks.

Shayne Berger pitched five innings and surrendered six runs on eight hits with two walks and fanned five.
