Morgan City police arrest man named as ‘Most Wanted’
Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Glenn Blanco reported the following arrests:
—Bryan Maize, 33, of Cardinal Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:22 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for simple burglary of a vehicle, a city court warrant for contempt of court and a district court warrant for failure to appear in court for criminal neglect of family.
The Morgan City Police Department received information as to Maize’s location. Officers went to a Wren Street residence where Maize was located and taken into custody. He had been featured in The Daily Review’s Most Wanted series and was wanted by Morgan City police for burglary, had a warrant from the district court for failure to appear for criminal neglect of family and from city court for contempt of court. No bail has been set.
—Henry Gaines, 28, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:43 p.m. Sunday for armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
—Devante Dewey, 19, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:43 p.m. Sunday for armed robbery.
Gaines and Dewey were arrested during an investigation into a complaint from a subject reporting he had been robbed. The complainant, who contacted police, stated that he was walking in the area of Eleventh Street when he was approached by several suspects, one of them armed, who struck him and together robbed him of his money and personal items at gunpoint. Investigating officers developed information and their investigation led to the arrests of Gaines and Dewey. The victims were not injured. The subjects are in jail with no bail set yet.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Derek Joseph Carter, 37, of Filmore Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:12 a.m. Friday on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of criminal neglect of family and issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Carter at his residence on the warrant. No bail is set.
—Tiffany Michele Delee, 25, of Beech Drive in Lafayette, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Friday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Delee at an address on Florence Street in Morgan City on the warrant. She was released on a summons to appear in court on March 8, 2013.
—Michael Shane Drummond, 33, of Short Street Alley in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:44 a.m. Friday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Drummond at his residence on the warrant. He was released on a summons to appear in court on March 8, 2013.
—Leonell Walker, 45, of Kelli Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. Friday on warrants for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Walker at an address on Ricohoc Drive in Ricohoc on the warrant. She was released on a summons to appear in court on March 8, 2013.
—Joey Eugene Lee, 30, of River Road in Berwick, was arrested at 10:18 p.m. Friday for disturbing the peace. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at Walmart in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from witnesses that Lee had been screaming and using vulgar language in the store. Lee was taken to the parish jail and held. He was released on a $250 bail.
—Aubrey Thompson Jr., 44, of La. 182 in Patterson, was arrested at 11:24 p.m. Saturday for second degree battery and simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of welfare concern at the residence on La. 182 in the Patterson area. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Thompson and a male victim were arguing when Thompson began to repeatedly strike the victim in the head, the report stated. When a female attempted to intervene, Thompson struck her as well, the report stated. The female victim suffered swelling and bruises. The male victim sustained a fractured facial bone. Thompson was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
—Stanley White, 21, of North Bayou Black Drive in Gibson, was arrested at 9:06 p.m. Saturday for possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a subject walking near the corner of Joey Boulevard and Lake Palourde Road. Upon exiting the patrol unit to speak with the subject, the deputy observed that the man, identified as White, appeared to be nervous. During a pat down for the deputies’ safety, a bag containing marijuana and a marijuana cigarette were in White’s possession, the report stated. He was taken to the parish jail and held. His bail is set at $2,000.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
