Morgan City High School will retire the baseball jersey of former player, coach and school principal Kenny Alfred prior to the Tigers District 7-4A contest against Vandebilt Catholic. In addition to playing at Morgan City, Alfred also excelled at Nicholls State University and played for the Atlanta Braves organization, advancing to Double A ball. The Morgan City High School Lady Tiger bowling team finished its season as state runner-up Friday 2016 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Bowling State Championships, falling to Central-Baton Rouge, 21-6, in the state finals at All-Star Lanes in Baton Rouge.
