Miss Louisiana USA, teen miss registration under way
RPM Productions, the producer of the Miss Louisiana USA and Miss Louisiana Teen USA pageants, has announced registration for the 2013 pageant season is under way.
For the 16th year in a row, Lafayette will host the event. The pageant will take place Oct. 26 and 27 at the Heymann Performing Arts Center.
“Lafayette is a great place to visit. Their excellent Cajun cuisine matches their fun and playful attitudes,” explains Paula Miles, RPM executive director. “The food is the best in the world and the people could not be more friendly, which is one of the many reasons we keep coming back!”
The pageants are the official state preliminaries to the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants, which are part of the Miss Universe Organization. Miss Louisiana USA 2012 Erin Edmiston was a top 16 finalist at the nationally televised Miss USA Pageant in June.
The pageants will feature qualified contestants between the ages of 14-26, who will compete in interview, swimsuit and evening gown competitions. They will vie for thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes as well as the ability to travel the state promoting the pageant and its charitable alliances.
Prospective contestants may apply online at www.misslouisianausa.com.
Applicants must be a resident of Louisiana, a single female who has never been married and never had a child, and a U.S. citizen. Those wishing to apply must be between the ages of 18 and 26 for Miss Louisiana USA, and between ages 14 and 19 for Miss Louisiana Teen USA (as of Feb. 1, 2013).
