MC recreation department summer art classes offered to kids, adults
Morgan City Recreation Department is offering various classes for the summer. Children ages 5 to 9 in the first group will be offered classes in the first class and children ages 10 to 18 will be included in the second class.
Classes are held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. for the first class and 3 to 4:30 p.m. for the second class
Registration is being held May 15 to 22 with classes beginning June 4.
Classes are limited to eight students. Some of the classes offered are include drawing, crafts, beginning sewing, quilting, ceramics, wood burning, sand art, bead art, leather crafts and jewelry making.
Class prices are $40 (this includes four classes and all supplies except for the sewing and quilting class where each student must provide their own supplies).
Adult classes will begin June 4 and be held on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. A quilting class is held from 5 to 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Class prices are $35 (four classes and adults must provide their own supplies).
Some of the classes offered include quilting, knitting, crochet, needlepoint, smocking, counted cross stitch, sewing and tailoring.

Classes for adults and children are offered at the recreation department year around.
