MC 9-year-old All-Stars run ends at state

The Morgan City 9-year-old All-Stars made the trek to Monroe this past weekend and played in Bracket D.

In the first game on Friday, MC beat Bossier American, 7-2, with Zeph Hoffpauir throwing a gem of a game with seven strikeouts and two walks.

Hoffpauir also hit the ball well with a double and two RBIs; Braxton Fontenot had a single and two RBIs; and Bentley Alcina and Akaya Poole each had a hit and an RBI.

MC moved on to face Pineville in the first game on Saturday and posted six runs but fell short, 11-6.

Poole and Grant Stansbury pitched and both struck out four batters.

Philip Guarisco led the team at the plate with two hits and two RBIs; Hoffpauir and Stansbury each had a hit and an RBI; and Fontenot and Williams Larocca each had singles.

In the last game of Bracket D, Osterland gave MC trouble and won by run-rule, 13-3, to end the All-Stars’ tournament.

Michael Anthony and Guarisco pitched in the losing effort and Hoffpauir had the only hit.
