Mancuso-Hernandez wed in May 20 ceremony

Sara Mancuso and Sergio Hernandez were united in holy matrimony May 20 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Broussard. The Revs. Louis Richard and Edward Duhon officiated the 6:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Douglas and Colleen Orgeron of Lafayette and Nick and Susan Mancuso of Metairie. The groom is the son of Eduardo and Rosie Hernandez of Patterson.

For the occasion, vases of hydrangeas were tied to each pew.

Music was by soloist Ann Mary Doss and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir.

Escorted in marriage by her father and stepfather, the bride wore an ivory, strapless gown of Vals taffeta accented with lace appliques. The fit and flare gown was designed with a split taffeta neckline with a peak-a-boo underlay, soft ruching on the bodice and flares at the hip from pleats that flowed into a draped chapel train.

Her head was adorned with a bubble veil.

She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas.

Kathryn Mancuso was maid of honor and Stephanie Frost was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ali Gautreaux, Courtney Acosta, Mary White, Angela Reynaud and Noelle Reed.

Junior bridesmaids were Anna Catherine Hover and Breanna Hernandez.

Kyleigh Rae Acosta and Faith Chauvin were flower girls.

Serving as ringbearers were Jacques Frost and Grant White.

Kevin Hernandez was best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Cervantes, Gustavo Hernandez, Cody Thibodeaux, Justin Trimm, Stephen Mann and Kirk Anslum.

Ushers were Cyrus Orgeron and Lyn Hargrave.

A reception followed at Keith’s Ballroom in Broussard.

The wedding cake was a four-tiered ivory confection in fondant. The bottom cake featured lace fondant, the next tier was in a quilted pattern highlighted with edible pearls and fleur de lis, the next tier was adorned with fleur de lis and scroll piping. The top tier repeated the lace design with a center fleur de lis. Each tier was adorned with hand-painted edible pearlized dust. At the base of the confection was a silver “H” covered in rhinestones.

Prior to the wedding, the groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at Nash’s in Broussard.

The bride is a graduate of Morgan City High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is an outside sales representative with 3D International Custom Sign and Design.

The groom is a graduate of MCHS and Remington College. He is a nurse at Urgent Care in Lafayette.

They honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and reside in Lafayette.
