Man arrested on warrant for disturbing the peace fighting
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Chase Bertrand, 27, of the 500 block of Joey Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:54 p.m. Thursday on three warrants for failure to appear on the charges of no driver’s license, speeding, disturbing the peace, and disturbing the peace by fighting. A deputy located Bertrand on the warrant. Bertrand was found hiding in the bushes near his residence. He was apprehended without incident. Bertrand was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
—A juvenile male, 14, of Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9 a.m. Thursday for ungovernable juvenile. A deputy responded to a complaint of a teenager who refused to go to school, Hebert said. After speaking with the juvenile, he was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Kimberly Collette, 41, of the 8700 block of La. 182 in Franklin, was arrested at 2:34 p.m. Thursday for theft of goods.
—Tina Charpentier, 33, of the 100 block of Sydney Lane in Franklin, was arrested at 2:34 p.m. Thursday for theft of goods.
A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a retail store located in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that two women, identified as Collette and Charpentier, were observed placing items in their purses and in bags before attempting to leave the store. Both were released on summonses to appear in court on Nov. 6.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrest:
—John Wayne Ross, 44, of Keith Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7 a.m. Thursday for entry where forbidden, on warrants for avoiding traffic control device, improper entering of a highway, simple battery-domestic, and misrepresentation during booking.
Officers received a call in regards to Ross causing a disturbance at a Keith Street address. Ross was located at the residence and had previously been advised by officers to stay away from the residence, Crouch said. Ross was also found to be wanted on several outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. He was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—A juvenile male, 15, of Morgan City, was arrested at 7:29 a.m. today for simple battery, battery of a police officer and two counts of resisting an officer by force. He was released to his parents.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Debra Jackson Brooks, 56, of the 1500 block of Plum Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Thursday for three counts of theft by shoplifting. Brooks is being held awaiting a bail hearing.
