Man arrested for failure to appear on drug warrant

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:

—Amon Deshawn Solone, 24, of Cardinal Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:14 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to comply with the conditions of drug court. A deputy located Solone at his residence on the warrant. Solone was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.

—Walter Linson, 36, of Elm Grove in Scott, was arrested at 1:02 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Diazepam. A deputy was called to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville in reference to Linson, who was wanted on a warrant. Linson was taken to jail and held. No bail is set.

—Brennan J. Foreman, 20, of Susan Court in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy was called to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in reference to a subject who was wanted on a warrant. Foreman was taken to jail and held. He was released on $500 bail.

—Teddy L. Bergeron, 41, of North Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Bergeron at his residence on the warrant. Bergeron was released on a summons to appear in court May 21.

—Cindy Nelson, 43, of Cottonwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Nelson at her residence on the warrant. She was released on a summons to appear in court May 21.

—Merton L. Thompson Jr., 56, of Rose Park Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested 12:43 a.m. Thursday for disturbing the peace. A deputy responded to Rose Park Lane in reference to a disturbance in progress. As the deputy arrived he heard a male screaming obscenities. The deputy made contact with the screaming man, who was identified as Thompson, the report stated. While speaking with Thompson, the deputy smelled the odor of alcohol on his breath. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Thompson got into an argument with a male over the location of a parked vehicle. The deputy advised Thompson to keep his voice down and to go inside his residence for the evening. Thompson stated that he would comply.

About 10 minutes later, the sheriff’s office received another complaint from Rose Park Lane. Upon arrival Thompson was located outside his residence. Witnesses stated to the deputy that Thompson continued to yell loudly at the late hour, according to the report. Thompson also stated to the deputy that he did come back out of his home and was yelling. Thompson was taken to the parish jail and held. His bail is set at $250.

Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Glenn Blanco reported the following arrests:

—Kaci Giroir, 25, of Jones Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for a probation violation. Giroir was taken to jail and held with no bail set at this time.

—Gregory Nigel, 41, of Jones Road in Gibson, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. Wednesday for felony theft ($600.) Police received a call to go to Power Specialties on Chennault Street in reference to a shift. Upon arrival, they learned that Nigel went to the business inquiring about buying a scrap motor. While employees were speaking to him, they noticed a stainless steel flange in the bed of his truck. The employees determined that the flange, which was valued at $600, had been taken from another pile of scrap metal located on the opposite side of the business, the report stated. Nigel was taken to jail and held with no bail set at this time.

—Donald Melancon, 24, of Andras Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:09 p.m. Wednesday, on a warrant for a probation violation. Melancon was taken to jail and held with no bail set at this time.

Patterson police arrested the following:

—Shanay Griffin, 22, of Morrison Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Feb. 21 for disturbing the peace by fighting. Griffin paid the fine and was released.

—Yakira Grant, 22, of North Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Feb. 21 for disturbing the peace by fighting. Grant paid the fine and was released.

—Wanya Francis, 18, of Muggah Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:46 p.m. Saturday for simple criminal damage to property. Francis paid the fine in full and was released.

—Willie Jay Daniels, 40, of Tiffany Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 7:28 p.m. Saturday for speeding and suspended driver’s license. Daniels paid the fine and was released.

—Tommy Vidos, 37, of Mike Drive, was arrested at 10:09 p.m. for expired motor vehicle inspection sticker, no driver’s license and an expired license plate. Vidos paid the fine in full and was released.

—Timmy Jones, of Mount Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:24 p.m. Sunday for DWI and open container. Jones was released on bail.

—Shawn Thompson, 35, of Donna Drive in Franklin, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. for driving under suspension and no tail lights. Thompson paid the fine in full and was released.

—Lawrence Mathews, 23 of Vernon Street in Abbeville, was transferred to Patterson police by the Department of Corrections at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday. Mathews is still being held.

—Eric Etienne, 25, of West Admiral Doyle Drive in New Iberia, was transferred to Patterson at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday by the Department of Corrections. Etienne is still being held.

—Arthur Stewart, 25, of Avenue B in Baton Rouge, was transferred to Patterson police by the Department of Corrections. Stewart is still being held.

—Christopher Woods, 21, of Allison Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for simple battery. Woods is still being held.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
