LSU honors Grant Dozar for his academic success
BATON ROUGE — The Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes honored six LSU student-athletes as part of their academic achievements and community service for March.
March’s student-athletes of the month are former Morgan City High School standout, senior Grant Dozar, as well as Ryan Eades, who were both honored for baseball; Kaitlyn Moreau, track and field; Kevin Minter, football; and David Roberts, men’s tennis. Kaelee Mader, swimming and diving, was selected as the Shaquille O’Neal CHAMPS/Student-Athlete Affairs Athlete of the Month.
For putting forth extra effort in the classroom and community in addition to their rigorous academic and competition schedules, these six student-athletes will have their pictures displayed on the wall in the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes.
Dozar, a management major, is a valuable first baseman and catcher. In his junior season, he started 14 games, playing first base and played in 37 games total. His senior season already includes numerous highlights as well, as he recently hit a two-run double in LSU’s win against Michigan.
His hard work continues in the classroom, as he received Southeastern Conference Freshman Academic Honor Roll in 2009 and Academic Honor Roll in 2011.
Each month, five student-athletes are recognized for their academic improvement, dedication and proven ability. In addition, one student-athlete is chosen through LSU’s Student-Athlete Affairs program for their volunteerism and commitment to the community.
