High school ‘rolled’

With Morgan City High School’s homecoming game against South Terrebonne Friday night, the tradition of toilet papering occurred Wednesday. While homes are the typical targets, the school did not escape the tradition this year as it was coated with toilet paper and plastic wrap this morning. Morgan City Police Assistant Chief Mark Griffin Jr. said police are not investigating the rolling of Morgan City High School as it is being treated as a school matter. Police have advised the school’s administration to contact police if they want to pursue criminal action, Griffin said.

Exploring Louisiana’s Jewish heritage

The Jewish section of Berwick Memorial Cemetery is surrounded by a fence of chain along Fourth Street in Berwick. The tomb of Miriam Blum Fortin features references to Christianity and Judaism with an angel at the top and a Hebrew inscription near the bottom.
