‘Tis the season

Decorated golf carts, pictured above, rolled down Main Street Saturday during Franklin’s Annual Christmas Parade and Lamp-Lighting Ceremony. Hundreds of participants turned out to watch the parade, play in the snow, enjoy music from Franklin local Ashley Pierce, the Franklin Senior High School band and local band Old Soul. During the festivities, this year’s official lamp lighter, St. Mary Council on Aging, flipped the switch to light up Franklin’s Christmas display down Main Street and on the bayou-side down Teche Drive. Pictured below from left are Lamp Lighters SMP Council on Aging Director Beverly Domengeaux, COA’s oldest participant Anna Hebert, 93, and Franklin Mayor Raymond Harris.
