The Jeanerette Museum will host the film viewing of Louisiana Story and a special presentation by Tika Laudun, senior producer of Louisiana Public Broadcasting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The history-making five-person team consisting of (from left) Bobby Smart of Anacoco (a “Louisiana ringer” on the team), Phil Bowden of San Marcos, Wendell Smith of Sequin, Chris Champion of San Marcos, and Heather Harrison of New Braunfels, exudes confidence at the start of the Tour de Rivière Rouge and 410 de Louisiane in Bossier City on Sept. 26. JPaddling a custom-made, 42-foot carbon fiber canoe, the team made their way down the Red River, motor-portaging around a bridge demolition in Alexandria, entering the Atchafalaya River at its source, and finishing with a motor portage at Krotz Springs into Bayou Courtableau for a painful sprint to Port Barre.
