FFD gets replacement unit

On Jan. 23, 2015 the Franklin Fire Department and several other emergency agencies were operating at a hazardous materials incident on US 90 when a semi-tractor trailer vehicle crashed into the rear of the fire departments utility truck. Chief Chuck Bourgeois said it took nearly a year and the threat of a lawsuit to settle with the insurance company. The fire department this week took delivery of the new replacement vehicle, a 2016 Ford Expedition. The new vehicle has an innovative graphics package, enhanced lighting and a low frequency siren. The vehicles replacement was accomplished within the settlement and was completed at no cost to the taxpayers. Below is a photo from the original accident.
