Donation to St. Mary Outreach

Health Occupations Students of America members from Berwick High School, along with their teacher, Tessie Michel, R.N., donated canned goods to St. Mary Outreach. HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education. The students were given a tour of St. Mary Outreach, where they learned about the services offered and the day-to-day function of the agency. During their visit, the students helped weigh and check the expiration dates on the donated food. From left, are Brandy Naverro, Jasmine Holifield, Arly Salinas, Teirra Gollmer, St. Mary Outreach Executive Director Kay Raymond, Michel and Shaquita Sylvester in the food pantry of St. Mary Outreach.

Students help place flags on graves

Leeanne Price, left, and Callie Breaux, both 11th grade students and members of the Morgan City High School Historical Society, assisted veterans’ organizations by placing or replacing American flags on the graves of deceased veterans this morning. The school club has assisted with the flag placement annually since 1999.
