The memorial is at the police department where her husband served when he died in a shootout on Jan. 26, 2013. The memorial was placed last year and dedicated on the anniversary of his killing on Flattown Road. She talked about coping with her husband’s death along with Chitimacha Police Chief Blaise Smith, who is with her in front of the memorial.

Members of the St. Mary Parish council meet in regular session Wednesday.
Items on the agenda include:
Lisa Morgan accepts a donation from Patterson State Bank’s customer service representative and new accounts manager Sandra Turner. Morgan accepted the donation on behalf of Parish President Paul Naquin Jr. with the St. Mary Parish Fair Association. Any funds collected through donations will go toward providing assistance to children in FFA and 4-H clubs of the parish to offset the cost of purchasing, raising and maintaining livestock.
