Grant helps pay for 400-ton mobile boat hoist at Seacraft Shipyard

Ribbon-cutting ceremony for Prevention Plus

Prevention Plus Clinic held a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 23 at its office located at 912 Marguerite St. in Morgan City. Owner Dr. Peter Abel, a cardiologist and 25-year resident of Morgan City, said, “I wanted to give back to Morgan City and to provide exceptional care.” On hand with Abel for the ceremony were Scott Price, Nelson Cortez, Mata Tellman and Eugina Price, St. Mary Chamber of Commerce ambassadors; Donna Meyer, Chamber president; Stephanie Dehart, Mandy Miller, Trisha Aucoin, Leah Wells, Layne Reynaud and Tricia McAllister, Prevention Plus staff; Charles Ray Johnson; Frank “Boo” Grizzaffi, Morgan City mayor; Jarrod Longman, St. Mary Parish assessor; Tommy Longman, District Attorney’s office liaison; Bob Harrison, Chamber vice chairman; and Lisa Patterson, Chamber marketing director. Prevention Plus is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and specializes in reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
