First Baptist Church plans Christmas program

The adult choir of First Baptist Church, of Morgan City, held a practice Wednesday for its upcoming Christmas program, “All is Well,” which will be presented at 6 p.m. Sunday in the church’s sanctuary. Board members retire with 40-plus years of education service

Bayou Vista fire

Firefighters were on the roof of a Bayou Vista house, which was on fire Thursday. A 29-year-old woman is accused of starting the fire by setting her boyfriend’s clothes on fire.

A 29-year-old woman, accused of setting her boyfriend’s clothes on fire in a closet at her home, is cooling off in jail today, a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s spokesman said.
