Krewe of Adonis royalty

Charles “Chuck” Landry and Sheila Adams were named Krewe of Adonis King and Queen XXXIX Saturday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. The men’s krewe held the first Mardi Gras ball in the Tri-City area. In keeping with the tableau theme, “Adonis Candy Emporium,” Adams represented “Queen Honeybee” and Landry was “Bit-O-Honey.” The krewe will hold the first parade of the season at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 in Morgan City.

Patterson city retirees honored

After 38 years of service to the Patterson community, City Manager Dave Lowery has retired. Police Chief Patrick LaSalle presented Lowery keys to the city at Tuesday night’s council meeting.
