Oceaneering International participated in the United Way Day of Caring Sept. 18 with a group of six women who volunteered to go to Chez Hope in Franklin.

Early morning crash

A vehicle crashed into Main Street Café in downtown Franklin around 2 a.m. today. Franklin Police report that Logan Savoie, 23, of Cedarwood Street, Franklin, was charged at 2:47 a.m.

First forum features judicial, School Board candidates

The St. Mary Chamber of Commerce hosted the first of four candidate forums to be held across the parish ahead of the Nov. 4 election. Candidates for three 16th Judicial District Court seats and the District 9 St. Mary School Board seat spoke Tuesday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium.
