Relay for Life set for Saturday

The Relay for Life of East St. Mary-Morgan City will take place from 2 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium.

Veterans Day targeted for Fallen Warriors Memorial dedication

Morgan City Mayor Frank “Boo” Grizzaffi and Councilman Louis Tamporello Jr. met with Terry Mayon, co-chairman of the Fallen Warriors Memorial Project, Wednesday morning at Cypress Park to discuss the possible sites in the park where a memorial can be located. Grizzaffi said a recommendation will be made to the City Council at its next meeting April 22. They were joined in the discussion by Dwayne Barbier, recreation department director. Black Bear Festival kicks off tonight

The St. Mary Chamber of Commerce hosted a Bayou Teche Bear Festival Kick-Off Party Thursday at the Teche Theatre in Franklin. Participants were served food from several local eateries and listened to music provided by Rick Lorenzo and Mark Robicheaux.
