Seventeen third-, fourth- and fifth-grade contestants from seven parish schools competed Monday in the 10th annual Multiplication Learning Wrap-ups contest.

Franklin candidates meet at FSHS in election forum

Candidates for Franklin mayor and city council gathered Monday in the Franklin Senior High School auditorium for a public forum in advance of Saturday’s election.

Top Holy Cross student

Mary Frances Cali, Holy Cross Elementary School’s Student of the Year for 2013-14, attended a breakfast in honor of all Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux’s Students of the Year at the Lumen Christi Retreat Center in Thibodaux. She received a framed certificate from Superintendent of Diocesan Schools Marion Fertitta and Bishop Shelton Fabre. The Students of the Year Awards program recognizes outstanding students who have demonstrated excellent academic achievement, leadership ability and citizenship. The program is sponsored by the Louisiana Superintendent of Education through the State Department of Education and the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
