Some Patterson residents asked to have trash ready for pick up Saturday
Residents of the Shady Grove Subdivision are being asked to have their trash placed for pickup on Saturday because the Wednesday trash run may not be feasible due to work on the Shady Grove Bridge at the entrance of the subdivision.
Steve Bierhorst, Department of Public Works director, said in a news release that work on the bridge is expected to begin at 7 a.m. Tuesday at which time the entrance road to the subdivision will be closed to traffic.
The news release described the temporary route of traffic for residents in the subdivision while the work is being done. The route is only designed for cars and light trucks.
Vehicles may utilize a temporary entrance/exit at 192 Shady Grove. This route leads to the rear of Grandwood apartments and up Grandwood Street to U.S. 90.
People with large trucks, boats, campers or other such vehicles, will need to get it out of the subdivision this weekend as the temporary exit will not support this type of heavy traffic, Bierhorst said.
The work could take two to three days to complete, Bierhorst said.
