Qualifying set for Franklin mayor, city council
Qualifying opens Feb. 12 for the upcoming election of mayor and council of the City of Franklin.
St. Mary Parish Clerk of Court Cliff Dressel said the primary election is set for April 5, and the general election will be held May 3 in the event of any runoffs.
Candidates will qualify Feb. 12-14 at the St. Mary Parish Clerk of Court’s office, second floor of the parish courthouse in Franklin. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the office is open during the noon hour.
Fees are $150 for registered Democrats, $131.25 for registered Republicans and $75 for “no party” candidates.
