Parish Council meets Wednesday
Members of the St. Mary Parish Council will meet in regular session Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the courthouse in Franklin.
Items on the agenda include:
—Introduction of an ordinance that would require the council as well as all of the public bodies under its jurisdiction to advertise for and award contracts to the lowest bidder for accounting services.
—Consideration of a proposed ordinance amending the current fiscal year budget. A public hearing will be called at 5:45 p.m.
—An appearance by St. Mary Council on Aging Executive Director Beverly Domengeaux.
—Resolutions on an engineering services agreement on the Morgan City levee improvement project; a certificate of substantial completion by Acadiane’ Renovations Ltd. on the replacement of boilers and associated work at the courthouse; an engineering services agreement on the pump stations elevation project; and an amendment on the agreement with Quality Engineering & Surveying LLC on the drainage project between Boudreaux Street and Gilmore Drive in Berwick.
