A ribbon cutting ceremony and the grand opening of the Walgreen’s in Franklin slated for this morning has been put off for one week. Walgreen’s officials on hand at the store on Main Street at Northwest Boulevard for an open house Thursday night explained that the opening was postponed due to the late arrival of its pharmacy license from the state. The drug store is now expected to open on Friday, March 7. Store hours will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Pharmacy hours will be the same as store hours on Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. From left are Shannon Guillory, Walgreen’s community leader; Debbie Allen, district pharmacy supervisor; Marguerite Robinson of Teche Talk; and Jermaine Boutte, assistant store manager.
