Franklin council meets Tuesday
Franklin City Council members meet Tuesday in regular session for March.
Guests include Office of Emergency Preparedness Director Duval Arthur with the St. Mary Parish Hazard Mitigation Plan update; and a representative of the Cypress Sawmill Festival in Patterson.
Ordinances for introduction include fixing tax rates in the city and purchase of the old Crowell School Gym.
For adoption are ordinances changing the speed limit on Roseville Street and lease of city property.
A proclamation would lift the open alcohol container law and the fireworks ban for the Bayou Teche Black Bear Festival April 11-13.
Mayor Raymond Harris will present a change order on the city hall exterior renovation work.
The mayor and council meet at 6 p.m. at City Hall on Iberia Street.
