WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Charles W. Boustany Jr., M.D., R-Lafayette, announced his office is accepting submissions for the 33rd annual Congressional Art Competition.
“The Congressional Art Competition provides an avenue for South Louisiana’s young artists to showcase their talents to the entire country. This competition allows high school students within the Third Congressional District an opportunity to share their creative abilities while promoting the importance of art within our community.
“The winner’s picture will prominently be on display in the United States Capitol for Members of Congress and visitors of Capitol Hill to view. I am looking forward to seeing the entries for this year’s competition.”
Information regarding the guidelines for the competition can be found at www.house.gov/content/educate/art_competition/.
High school age students not enrolled in a formal art program are also encouraged to participate. The entries must be submitted to the Acadiana Center for the Arts located on 101 W. Vermilion Street in Lafayette from 2 to 5 p.m. March 17.
