Crash on La. 182 claims 2 lives

Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a two vehicle head-on crash Tuesday night on La. 182 east of La. 88, which claimed the lives of two people.
Shortly before 7:45 p.m., 53-year-old Creig Broussard of St. Martinville was driving a 2000 Chevrolet truck west on La. 182, police report. A 2004 GMC truck, driven by 36-year-old Brian Stockstill of New Iberia was traveling east on La. 182, police stated.
For reasons still under investigation, Broussard crossed the centerline and struck Stockstill’s vehicle head-on, police report.
Both Broussard and Stockstill, who were wearing seat belts, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish coroner, police stated.
It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this crash. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
This crash remains under investigation.
