CAA offers tax prep assistance
St. Mary Community Action Agency’s volunteer tax preparers are ready for another season.
“We are offering these services as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program,” said Chief Executive Officer Almetra Franklin. “We will prepare basic 2013 tax returns for individuals, low-income families, and seniors free of charge. If you have all of your tax forms prepared, then we are here to serve you.”
Please bring two forms of identification, Social Security cards and birth certificates for all dependents being claimed this season.
“So far, scheduling for appointments has been going overwhelming well and community feedback has been tremendous,” Franklin said. “The agency looks forward to helping as many clients as possible.”
The free service is being offered at CAA headquarters, 1407 Barrow St. in Franklin; and at the St. Mary Neighborhood Service Center, 330 Cardinal St, in Morgan City. Appointments at either site can be made at the St. Mary Neighborhood Service Center, 203 Martin Luther King St., in Baldwin.
Appointments may be scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays by calling 337-828-5703.
