Brittany's Project is Friday and Saturday
Brittany’s Project third annual event is Friday evening and all day Saturday.
Friday evening there will be a cruise through downtown Franklin with the Sonic Drive-In serving as host. “Gone Pecan” will play at the event site from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. after the cruise.
Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday at the site on La. 87 at the Oaklawn Bridge approach road outside of Franklin. Spectator admission is $5 per car. Car show registration fee is $25.
The day’s schedule is:
—Opening ceremonies are at 9:30 a.m. by Miss Franklin Hayley Hiles followed by recognition of visiting queens. Chay Guillory will sing the national anthem.
—9:30 to 11 a.m.: Lawn mower races and sled pulls
—10:30 to 11:30 a.m.: Franklin Line Dancers
—11:15 a.m. to noon: Monster Truck Sudden Impact
—Noon: Wrestlemania presentation
—12:20 to 1 p.m.: Coal Train Swamp Truck performance
—1 to 4 p.m.: Rat Rod Races and Burnouts (Any vehicle wishing to participate in burnouts or racing must be a registered vehicle)
—2 p.m.: Full Force Dance Team
—2:30 to 3:30 p.m.: Pin Up Contest
—3 to 5:30 p.m.: Music by South 70
—6 to 7:30 p.m.: Music by Tony O
—7:30-9 p.m.: Music by Natural Selection
—7:30 p.m.: Ardour Ignite live fire presentation, including flaming batons, flame-swallowing and dances with fire.
Alvin and the Chipmunks, Mitch the Magician, a petting zoo, a kiddie train and rides, and face painting, along with many various vendors will also be on the grounds.
No alcohol is served. Ice chests can be brought to the grounds with a $5 donation.
