Local radio stations will carry LSU sports this year
Radio stations KBZE 105.9FM and KFRA 1390AM are now a LSU Radio Sports Network affiliate.
The two stations will broadcast all football games, as well as the Les Miles Show and the LSU Sunday Night Live Call-in Show.
KFRA 1390AM will broadcast the 2014 winter and spring sports, along with their respective coaches shows, with occasional simulcasts on KBZE 105.9FM.
The first Les Miles Show will be Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.
The first LSU game is set for Aug. 31 against TCU at Cowboys Stadium.
Howard Castay, the radio stations’ general manger and president, said he was excited to join the network, in view of the school’s recruitment of St. Mary Parish high school athletes.
“I’m very proud that we can kick off the LSU season having the families, friends and fans of Kenny Hilliard, Lorenzo Phillips (Patterson High School graduates), Jerald Hawkins (West St. Mary) and Conner LeBlanc (Central Catholic) follow their favorite guy on their local, home radio stations, who were there when they made their marks as Lumberjacks, as a member of the Wolfpack and as a member of the Central Catholic Eagles,” Castay said.
