Local arrests made
The Morgan City Police Department made two arrests overnight, according to Chief Marc Folse.
—Donald Anderson, 44, of Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested Tuesday at 3:46 p.m. under the Hwy. 182 bridge along Brashear Avenue and charged with open container violation, possession of cocaine and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a school zone. Booked and incarcerated with a $7,200 bond.
—Edward Rubin, 27, of Connor Court, Marrero, was arrested today at 12:40 a.m. and charged with simple battery after a fight at the Rathskellar Lounge. Booked and incarcerated with a $682 bond.
According to Sheriff Mark Hebert, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office made the following arrest:
—Willie Francis, 22, of La. 182, Morgan City, arrested Tuesday at 3:28 p.m. on a warrant for two counts of theft. Arrest took place during an investigation of an automobile accident along U.S. 90. Issued summons to appear in court on Aug. 17.
According to Chief Patrick LaSalle, the Patterson Police Department made the following arrests:
—Emanuel Farceirt, 31, of Yvonne Drive, Avondale, arrested at 4:25 a.m. today on U.S. 90 for driving under suspension, open container of alcohol, speeding 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Remains incarcerated with a $628 bond.
—DeQuante Wesley, 18, of Orange Street, Morgan City, arrested at 3:16 a.m. today on U.S. 90 at Tiffany Street for no driver’s license and failure to dim headlights. Released after payment of $364 fine.
—Howard Keenze Jr., 46, of Ninth Street, Franklin, arrested Tuesday at 10:36 p.m. at the intersection of Cherry Street and Martin Luther King Drive for no driver’s license and improper parking. Released after payment of $364 fine.
—Robert Parker Jr., 31, of Fourth Street, Berwick, arrested at 1:42 a.m. today on U.S. 90 for driving under suspension. Released after payment of $316 fine.
The Berwick Police Department reports one arrest, according to Chief James Richard.
—Shantell Soto, 24, of Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, arrested Tuesday at 3:50 p.m. at the Berwick Police Department on two counts of introducing contraband into a penal institution. She brought in two cellular telephones with a charger along with tobacco products. Transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center in Centerville for holding with no bond yet set.
