Bergeron-McElroy nuptials held Jan. 18

Lani Marie Bergeron and Taylor Patrick McElroy were united in holy matrimony during a 1 p.m. double-ring ceremony Jan. 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City. The Rev. Gregory Fratt officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Damon and Suzanne Bergeron of Berwick. She is the granddaughter of Sharon Bergeron of Morgan City and the late Jason Bergeron, and Maurice and Sandra Roberie of Berwick.
The groom is the son of Pat and Kay McElroy of Slidell. He is the grandson of the late Ret. Lt. Col. and Mrs. Allen A. McElroy, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Godeaux.
For the occasion, the sanctuary pews were hung with bunches of ivory roses and hydrangeas attached by ivory organza ribbon. Adorning the altar were two arrangements of ivory roses, lisianthus and sprays of greenery.
Music was by vocalist Margaret Kreider, violinist Gina Duran, trumpeter Ian Bergeron and organist Lee LeBlanc.
Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory washed silk organza designed with a sweetheart neckline, natural waist and sweep train. Accenting her gown was a belt adorned with crystals and pearls.
Gracing her head was a fingertip-length veil edged with crystals.
She carried a bouquet of roses, hydrangeas, peonies and ranunculus. Her bouquet was wrapped with her christening bonnet and a rosary belonging to her great-grandmother, the late Della Fontenot Roberie.
Maegan Hennemen was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Michelle McElroy, Lindsey Nolting, Brittani Boudreaux, Paige Boudreaux and Kristen Landry. They each wore a floor-length gown in pale azure tiffany chiffon.
The maid of honor carried a bouquet of ivory and blush hydrangeas, ranunculus, garden roses and peonies. Her hair was adorned with a spray of baby’s breath.
Bridesmaids carried bouquets of ivory and blush hydrangeas, ranunculus, garden roses and peonies.
Flowers girls were Charlotte Shuemann and CeCe Shuemann. Luke Bailey was ringbearer.
Best man was Dylan Bergeron, brother of the bride. Groomsmen were Ethan Breaux, David Nolting, Ashley Boudreaux, Matthew Theriot and Ryan Darbonne.
Ushering guests were Grant Garber and Ivan Garber.
A reception followed at NicoBella in Morgan City. The entrance was accented with large urns filled with hydrangeas and tall branches with hanging candles. Pieces of antique furniture were decorated with the bride’s portrait, the couples’ engagement photos and clusters of ivory and light blush hydrangeas, roses, lisianthus and peonies. Similar flowers were used in centerpieces and placed near antique bronze and gold lanterns on tables.
The wedding cake was a five-tiered confection adorned with ivory buttercream, gold accents and fresh flowers.
The groom’s cake was a three-tiered confection devoted to the groom’s favorite things. The bottom layer depicted a marsh during a sunrise duck hunt; the middle layer was LSU purple and gold; and the top layer was red, white and blue and decorated with the U.S. Coast Guard seal. A surprise for the groom, the interior of the cake was purple and gold tiger stripes.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Café Jo Jo’s in Morgan City.
The bride is an alumna of Berwick High School and Louisiana State University. She works as a substitute teacher for the St. Mary Parish School Board and as an instructor/choreographer for Dominique’s Studio of Dance.
The groom is an alumnus of Northshore High School and Louisiana State University. He serves as a Seaman in the Coast Guard.
They honeymooned in St. Lucia, West Indies.
