Law enforcement agencies have busy weekend of arrests

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office made the following arrests over the weekend, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert.

—Kevian M. Lee, 38, of Lagonda Street, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. Friday for domestic abuse battery, aggravated assault and simple criminal damage to property. He is alleged to have made threats with a knife to a victim. Booked into the parish jail with no bond yet set.

—Travis Templet, 25, of Lee Drive, Pierre Part, was arrested at the Berwick Police Department at 4:11 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding and littering. Booked into the parish jail with a $350 bond and later released.

—Cody Thibodeaux, 21, of Fourth Street, Berwick, was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Saturday for simple robbery. He is alleged to have confronted several juveniles outside of a store on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista and of then taking $10 from one of them. He was identified by clerk inside the store, and he later turned himself in to the Morgan City Sheriff’s office, placed under arrest, and booked into the parish jail with no bond yet set.

—James D. Thomas Sr., 61, of Field Street, Bayou Vista, was arrested at his residence at 6:22 p.m. Sunday on warrants for issuing worthless checks. Placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on Sept. 12.

—Robert Toups, 28, of Levee Road, Morgan City, was arrested on Village Lane in Amelia at 3:35 p.m. Friday on warrants for possession of marijuana second offense and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, failure to appear for criminal neglect of family, failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and speeding, failure to appear on the charge of simple battery and failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery. Booked into the parish jail with no bond yet set.

—A male juvenile, 15, of Morgan City was arrested at 2:03 p.m. Friday for “sexting.” He is alleged to have sent a nude photo to someone via cell phone. He was arrested, processed, and released to guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

The Berwick Police Department made one arrest over the weekend, according to Chief James Richard.

—Eddie Diaz, 40, of Oak Branch Drive, LaPlace, arrested Friday at 6:11 p.m. for driving under suspension and on a warrant from St. John the Baptist Parish for two counts of aggravated incest. Still incarcerated awaiting extradition to St. John the Baptist Parish.

The Patterson Police Department reports the following arrests over the weekend, according to Chief Patrick LaSalle.

—Merrill Cormier, 37, of Main Street, Patterson, was arrested on Catherine Street at 6:05 a.m. Monday for driving under suspension and for not having headlights on. Incarcerated with $466 bond.

—Bernika Lashay Verdun, 22, of Second Street, Morgan City, was arrested on Cleveland Street at 4:13 p.m. Saturday for driving under suspension, no child restraint, and no seat belt. Paid fine of $473 and released.

—Traylon Jenkins, 18, of Guyther Street, Patterson, was arrested on Taft Street at 2:08 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Released after paying $336 fine.

—Keilo Edwards, 21, of Park Street, Patterson, was arrested on Taft Street at 2:06 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Released after paying cash fine of $336.

—Traylin DeVonte Smith, 18, of Martin Luther King Street, Patterson, was arrested on Taft Street at 1:18 a.m. Saturday for resisting an officer by giving false information and simple battery. Incarcerated with a $727 bond.

—Kenneth Jerome Wilson, 40, of Charlotte Drive, Patterson, was arrested at home at 1:49 a.m. Sunday for simple battery domestic. Incarcerated with no bond yet set.

—Bridgette Denise Wilson, 39, of Charlotte Drive, Patterson, was arrested at home at 1:51 a.m. Sunday for simple battery domestic. Incarcerated with no bond yet set.

—Shannon Sylvester, 25, of Brashear Avenue, Morgan City, was arrested at Ganaways at 7:13 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace with foul language, simple battery, and simple assault. Incarcerated with $800 bond.

The Morgan City Police Department reports the following arrests over the weekend, according to Chief Marc Folse.

—Robin Gilbert, 52, no address given, was arrested at 10:28 a.m. Friday on two probation failure to appear warrants and was booked into the Morgan City jail on a $1,290 bond.

—Gavalin C. Abney, 29, of Oklahoma City, Okla., was arrested at 12:15 a.m. Saturday on speeding and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. He was booked and released on a $585 bond.

—Ricardo Hernandez, 47, of Morgan City, was arrested at 4:57 p.m. Saturday on charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and no insurance. He was booked with a $585 bond.

—Blake T. Falcon, 31, of Thibodaux was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Saturday on failure to appear bench warrants in Terrebonne Parish. He was booked and is awaiting transport to Terrebonne Parish.
