Lady Wolfpack whip Lady Panthers

BALDWIN _ Amber Joe, Alexis Cross and Gentrell Wells combined for 63 points, leading the West St. Mary Lady Wolfpack to a 91-33 District 6-2A triumph over the Delcambre Lady Panthers here Friday at the WSMHS Gym.

West St. Mary seized control from the outset, securing a lop-sided 24-8 first quarter lead. West St. Mary stretched its lead to 40-13 at intermission thanks to a 16-5 spurt in the second stanza. The West St. Mary Lady Wolfpack continued their dominance throughout the second half with a 51-20 flurry en route to the 91-33 victory.

Joe led the Lady Wolfpack in scoring with a game-high 24 points on 11 field goals and 2 of 6 free throws.

Cross pumped in 22 points on eight field goals and 6 of 8 freebies while also making four steals.

Wells, who pilfered six passes, polished off the Lady Wolfpack double digit scorers with 17 points on seven field goals and 3 of 9 charity shots.

Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Wolfpack were: Sequoya Ferguson, 7 (5 steals); Gerianna Lyons, 6; Jahyrin Connor, 5 (one deuce, one trey); Tajah Lofton, 4; Rhayla Marks, 2 and Chi’Kira Tillman, 4 (10 rebounds, 7 steals, 8 assists).

West St. Mary (10-7, 4-1) will play host to David Thibodaux on Tuesday at the WSM Gym in league play.
