Lady Wolfpack hammer DTHS

BALDWIN _ West St. Mary’s Lady Wolfpack raced outfront by a 22-0 first quarter score and never looked back in pounding the David Thibodaux Lady Bulldogs 68-4 here Tuesday at the West St. Mary High School Gymnasium.

The Lady Wolfpack would not be denied the victory benefiting from a suffocating defense which fueled a red-hot offense to stop David Thibodaux in its tracks.

West St. Mary (11-7, 4-1) turned a 22-0 first quarter lead into a one-sided 35-2 halftime cushion. West St. Mary extended its lead to 54-4 at the end of the third quarter on the way to the huge 68-4 victory.

Gentrell Wells led the Lady Wolfpack in scoring and steals. Wells burned the nets for 17 points on eight field goals and 1 of 2 along with six steals.

Alexis Cross bagged 15 points, knocking down seven floor shots and 1 of 3 free throws along with two steals.

Jakyrin Connor pumped in four treys and one deuce for 14 points.

Chi’Kira Tillman finished with 10 points on three field goals along with an impeccable 4 of 4 shots from the charity line and three steals.

Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Wolfpack were: Sequoya Fergerson, 8, (5 steals); Tajah Lofton, 2, and Gerianna Lyons, 2.

On the night, the Lady Wolfpack made good on 29 field goals, including four treys and 6 of 11 free throws.
