Lady Panthers fall

The Kaplan High School Lady Pirates pounded out a 9-1 victory against the Berwick Lady Panthers on Tuesday in Kaplan.

The Lady Pirates limited Berwick to three hits, while the Lady Panthers committed five errors in the loss.

Kaplan scored all of its runs before Berwick was able to generate its lone run in the top of the sixth inning.

Megan Fegenbush (11-10) took the loss for Berwick. In six innings, she surrendered nine runs on eight hits and hit two batters.

At the plate, Elizabeth Hover finished 1-for-1 with a stolen base, while Amber Girard and Abigail Ohlin each finished 1-for-3, with Girard adding an RBI and Ohlin scoring the Lady Panthers’ lone run.

The Lady Panthers (12-12, 5-5 overall) are supposed to continue District 9-3A play today at home against Franklin at 4 p.m., but BHS coach Lloyd Burchfield could not be reached before press time to determine if that game was a rain out.

Vandebilt Catholic

downs Morgan City

Vandebilt Catholic scored six runs in the first inning and coasted to a 7-2 victory against Morgan City High School.

The Lady Terriers added another run in the third inning for a 7-0 lead, before Morgan City scored single runs in the fourth and sixth innings in the defeat.

MCHS’ Tyler Hebert struck out two and walked one.

Amber Bailey went 2-for-3 with a double and a run, while Shannon Theriot and Brandi Ingram each finished 2-for-3.

Nikki Pennison added a 1-for-3 performance with an RBI for the Lady Tigers.

Patterson falls to


The Patterson Lumberjills fell to Plaquemine High School, 4-0, on the road on Tuesday in a non-district contest.

Individual stats were not available today.
